| Mdm. Ha Thi Khiet, Director of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, handed over the special gifts to the 14 districts’ representatives is 9,8 billion VNĐ for purchasing 1,400 cows to support the means for the poor to overcomepoverty reduction.
The 14 poorest districts, which have been handled over with 1,400 cows, include: Meo Vac in Ha Giang province, Muong Te in Lai Chau province, Muong Nhe in Dien Bien province, Ky Son in Nghe An province, Da Krong in Quang Tri province and Tu Mo Rong in Kon Tum provine, each district will receive 100 cows. Remarks at the ceremony, Mdm. Ha Thi Khiet stressed that in 2010, Vietnam Red Cross will continue strengthening and developing organization's Society for humanitarian operation"Together for humanity", "Each organization, each individual helps an humanitary address " in social life. She emphrased that Red Cross Vietnam should pay more attention to build up its network and structures in remote, mountainous, border areas and islands, helped individuals and colectives effort for charity andmore effective assistance to the poor, the disabled, victims of natural disasters and victims of war. This is initiative of Vietnam Red Cross in the program "Together for for the poor living in border areas" in 2010 to implement the Decision 30a/2008/NQ-CP of the Government about sustainable rapid poverty reduction in 62 poorest districtsin the country.
Program " Together for for the poor living in border areas" has focused on building "Cow Bank", presented 1,000 cows per year for poor districts and 1,000 scholarships “ Lighting the future”, with 5,000,000 VND/scholarship, forpoor students but exceeding difficulty. The program brings a deep social meaning for the humanity that assist to improve living conditions, reduce difficulties for the most vulnerable, especially women and children,living in 797 poor communes in 62 poor districts of the country. |
