Implementing conduct of VNRC Headquarters, city people’s Committee about carrying out “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims” in 2010, from February 1 to February 10 in 2010, Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross along with the units:Sugus soft candy Brand, ACB - Asia Commercial JointStock Bank, SCB-Saigon Commercial Joint-Stock SugusBank , ELectrical wire & cable Co.Ltd, Vietnam Kirin Acecook Beverage Co., LTD, Kềm Nghĩa Joint-Stock Company, Temple guardianAssociation of Taiwan, CityRed Cross sponsor committee,Committee of Sponsoring Agent Orange victims fundof cityRed Cross ... Red Cross of 24 districts, towns and subsidiary units visited and gave 1.150 gifts to victims of agent Orange/ Dioxin , 1.630 o­nes to orphan children, disabled children at quarters, communes, compassion center , etc; 24.426 o­nes to disabilities, short-handed elder at 24 districts and towns and social centre; assisted 30 poor children for treatment( 500 $ per o­ne); gave 30 wheelchairs to disabled people(1.950.000 VND per o­ne); gave 40 Red Cross scholarships(3000.000 VND per o­ne); held spring day meal for 320 poor pioneers.

On this case, Ho Chi Minh Red Cross coordinated with sponsors above to support people affected by calamity, ethnic people in distant in provinces: Son La, Lang son, Dien Bien, Lai chau, Ha Giang, Nam Dinh, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Dac Nong, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Da Nang, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Binh thuan, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Long An, AN Giang, Tien Giang, Hau Giang, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Dong Thap, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu to build 6 houses of affection(30.000.000 VND per o­ne), 29 Houses of mercy(15.000.000 VND per o­ne), 1 countryside path(28.000.000 VND), gave 12.022 gifts to Agent orange/dioxin victims, orphan children, disabled people, short-handed elders, families damaged after calamity.

Total of value of program: “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims” in 2010, implemented by Ho Chi Minh Red Cross reached 10.173.3000 VND (in 2009 was 9.375.600.000 VND)
