The Typhoon No.1, international codename Conson, is happening complicatedly with fast moving with wind reach to 10, 11 and over 12th beauforts at the, forecasted to landed in littoral provinces from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa provinces around noon on 17/7/2010. The Vietnam Prime Minister, the Flood and Storm control – National committee, the Search and Rescue – National committee have sent the official letter to National Ministries, governmental agencies, People Committees in provinces and cities to conduct to prepare and response to this Typhoon. Vietnam Red Cross requests Red Cross Chapters to carry out urgent activities below: 1.Regularly check the situation of the Typhoon and then announce & communicate to the local in provinces, cities in time so as to actively response to this Typhoon. Especially, northern and northern central mountainous provinces must strictly response and implement its preparedness activities for flash flood or landslides. 2.Assign officiers to be on duty during 24 hours and plan to timly response to flood, typhoon. 3.Ready transportation, goods as well as its Red Cross active youth and volunteers participate in evacuating and assisting families before, during and after the Typhoon. Mobilise population help themselves and the others in difficult situation. Well practice the guideline: conduct at place, force at place, transportation at place, and supply base at place. 4.Regularly report to VNRC NHQs through Social Work – Disaster Management Department by fax: 04 3942 8936 about damages, rescuing activities, relief of RC at all level and urgent demand of the local. After receiving this letter, chapters are required to implement above activities.
